The Hyderabad squad for the match has three other non-Indian cricketers – opener David Warner, keeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow and leg spinner Rashid Khan. Shakib also got the opportunity to ring the match opening bell upon his return to the Eden Gardens venue. Shakib had suffered a finger injury on Feb 8 during the final of the BPL. Hyderabad was unable to play Warner last season because of the restriction. Hyderabad performed well under the Kiwi captain’s leadership and the team decided to keep him on upon Warner’s return.
