Shakib started to bat in the No 3 spot for Bangladesh around 18 months ago and since then, he is batting at that position in the 50-over format. But Shakib informed that he had to convince everyone that he can bat at No 3 and be successful. “Batting at No 3 is different and a new challenge to me, considering that I used to bat at No 5. So I had to convince a lot of people, and it’s working for me at No 3,” Shakib said to the media after their match against England. When questioned whether it was the right decision to opt to field, Shakib said it was a combined decision by the team.
