Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman are likely to hear the bail petition, Shahidul’s lawyer Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua said on Tuesday. “Shahidul Alam is sick; he will face the trial and won’t flee the country if he is granted the bail. The lawyers sought bail from the High Court after the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court denied Shahidul bail on Sept 11. The High Court ordered the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court to settle the bail petition by Sept 11 and the judge rejected the bail. Later police filed a case under the ICT act against Shahidul alleging that he had ‘provoked people and spread false propaganda.’
