Shafie Apdal called up by MACC again over another alleged corruption case

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal was called in by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) once again, this time to give a statement pertaining to a maintenance project for a public university in the state. MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki said the new investigation involving Shafie is not related to the previous case of alleged misappropriation of funds amounting to RM1.5 billion. Shafie arrived at the Sabah MACC office at the state federal government administrative complex here at about 11am to meet the graft busters. He was accompanied by Warisan Sabah Wira chief Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman, Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr and the party's counsel, Martin Tommy. When asked if the case involves a university, the lawyer refused to elaborate further, saying that it "is housekeeping only".
