Growing up as a child in Eton College was simple and pleasant. Sometimes we were cast in plays by the drama department, which was a thrill. The main theatre at Eton is the size of a proper theatre in a town, and I loved the smell of make-up, the late nights, the bright lights, the sense of occasion.
