For example: crash test dummies have been around since the 1950s, and for most of that time they've been based on a 50th-percentile male form. According to a February 2019 story in The Guardian, American crash tests have only used female dummies since 2011, European NCAP since 2015. It's launched a programme called Project EVA (Equal Vehicles for All). SUPPLIED EVA project has made all of Volvo's safety data available... to anybody. Based on those studies and its own data, Volvo Cars created virtual crash test dummies to represent men and women in an equal way.
