The Storm Prediction Center has issued an “enhanced” risk of severe thunderstorms in the immediate metro area this afternoon, which means numerous severe storms are possible, and they could be widespread. Wind shear values will approach 50 to 60 mph, large enough to support several modes of severe thunderstorm development.
