Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hamilton and Burlington. The weather agency said rainfall amounts of 50 mm in an hour or less are possible, as a cluster of severe thunderstorms near Campbellville moves southeast. Environment Canada said isolated thunderstorms are moving slowly across the region and will contain "brief, very heavy downpours." Local rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm in an hour or less are possible along with gusts to 70 km/h. The showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to end this evening.
