Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm alert for Cochrane, Olds and Sundre Saturday night. The agency said the storm is capable of producing strong wind gusts, nickel-sized hail and heavy rain. The storm was said to be located about 15 kilometres west of Olds, and moving east at 20 km/h at approximately 9:45 p.m.People in the area should watch for adverse weather conditions and take any necessary safety precautions.
