According to US State Department spokesperson Ned Price, the evacuation of American Embassy employees to the Kabul Airport has also been fully completed. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has confirmed that the Kabul International Airport has since resumed commercial flights suspended over the seizure of the city by Taliban militants. The Taliban seized Kabul without a fight on Sunday, 15 August, prompting President Ashraf Ghani to resign and reportedly leave the country.
