Several PIMS departments including children, COVID-19 ICUs deprived of air conditioners


Share:ISLAMABAD - Around one dozen departments in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) including children and COVID-19 ICUs are deprived of the air conditioners while doctors have demanded a theft inquiry on missing air conditioners from the Outpatient Department (OPD). The clinical officials including doctors and nurses alleged the incharge of the air conditioning department for showing negligence in maintenance of air conditioners (ACs). Doctors initially stormed into the room of the ACs incharge who was not present in the office; however, in the video his own air conditioner was working. A doctor in COVID-19 ICU informed The Nation that ACs in the COVID-19 designated ICU are also not working which is a terrible thing. According to the list available with The Nation the departments include New Emergency (ER), main ER, main ER room 5, 6, 7, main ER 2A, 2B, main ER surgical wing, medical OPD, main OPD first floor, Medical Ward (MW) 3, MW 4, Surgical Ward (SW) 1, SW 2, SW 5, COVID-19 ICU, Children Isolation, Children west ward, and Mother and Child Hospital General Wards.
