HYDERABAD : Mild tension prevailed in Hyderabad near Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s (KCR) camp office, Pragathi Bhavan, on Monday as Congress leaders who tried to enter it were taken into custody by the police. Anticipating trouble from the grand old party, which gave a call to lay ‘siege’ Pragathi Bhavan a day earlier, the police heightened security in and around the area (Begumpet), even checking hotels. Senior Congress leader and former Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwer Reddy said his house in Hyderabad was under also police surveillance. Apart from him, many other Congress leaders, who tried reaching Pragathi Bhavan were arrested by the police. The bye-election is seen by as a prestige issue between KCR and Congress leaders.
