Calcutta: The celebrations had started long before East Bengal took the field at the Kalyani Stadium. It was almost a given that the red and gold brigade would beat Mohammedan Sporting and confirm their seventh consecutive CFL title on Thursday. The wait grew longer as East Bengal struggled to break the deadlock till the 72nd minute. There were the flag-waving supporters huddled in every nook and corner of the stadium and ones with the East Bengal colours painted all over their body. Arnab Mondal, who led East Bengal on the day, couldn't hide his feelings.
