A seven-year-old girl drowned in a river she was swimming with other children in Ainabkoi, Uasin Gishu County. The PP2 pupil slipped and fell into the river while attempting to grab her slippers that had been swept away by the water. Police say most rivers and streams are swollen due to ongoing rains being experienced and want general caution from all concerned. Most of the victims drowned, police said. The meteorological department has warned more rains will be experienced in the coming days and declared an El Nino.
