The operation took place on Friday, January 23, and was funded by Police, Fire, Crime Commissioner ( PFCC) David Allen. David Allen said: “Ketamine use in Carlisle and Cumbria is a growing issue, it’s emerging as the drug of choice for recreational use, and we are quite worried about it. The Operation was the sixth time David Allen funded a police response against drug dealers across Cumbria. The funding was taken from a pot of money already recovered from previous drugs enforcement to further target those suspected of supplying drugs. David Allen said the raid at a property in Carlisle which the News & Star attended was “successful” and “impressive”.
