The application period will not be extended again, he said, as the six applicants have been deemed sufficient. An informed source who requested anonymity described Mr Setthaput as the favourite to fill outgoing governor Veerathai Santiprabhob's shoes. Apart from the two latest applicants, four other candidates applied during the regular application period. Mrs Tongjai is a former investment officer at the central bank, and Mr Suchart is a former senior investment dealer there.
