The government also appointed a fresh set of 72 law officers for the principal seat here and 31 for the Madurai Bench. Sources said that law officers considered close to sidelined AIADMK leaders V.K. The services of four other SGPs, 13 AGPs and 13 Government Advocates in Chennai were terminated by the government. Among those whose services had been terminated in Madurai were SGPs M. Govindan, M. Alagudevan and C. Selvaraj and AGP T.R. The Madurai Bench would now get four SGPs, 11 AGPs, nine GAs (civil side) and seven GAs (criminal side).
