COURTESY PHOTOLOWELL -- As a Catholic school community, Lowell Catholic High School not only teaches students academic lessons, but also directs them to apply what they have learned to improve the world around them. Each January for the past seven years, seniors have gone out into the community and given back by volunteering at more than 25 service sites. Daniel Mainardi, campus minister, added, "Although the Community Service Learning program is more demanding than other schools I've been involved with as a student and teacher, I truly believe the seniors who selected service sites aligned with their future career goals got a tremendous amount out of it. Senior Service Week is run in conjunction with LC's Community Service Learning program, which requires students to perform more than 100 hours of community service as a requirement for graduation.
