One person has been flown to hospital and several others have also been injured in a two-vehicle crash near Lumsden in Southland. A police spokesman said eight people were involved in the collision, which occurred at the intersection of the Five Rivers-Lumsden Highway (State Highway 6) and Mossburn Fiver Rivers Road. A St John spokesman said one patient suffered serious injuries and was flown to Southland Hospital in Invecargill. The New Zealand Transport Agency advised tonight that part of State Highway 6 is down to one lane and caution is advised. Police said the Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
