One person has died and another has been taken to hospital in critical condition after a car rolled on SH2 in the Bay of Plenty on Saturday morning. The accident happened just before 8am on SH2 east of Pukehina Beach, about 3km northeast of Pongakawa. A witness told SunLive one car was involved in the crash, and it appeared two people were trapped in the vehicle at the time of the crash and were "in a bad way".
