Dunedin detectives are investigating after a man suffered numerous injuries in a serious assault in South Dunedin. Information about the assault was limited, but Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said it was reported on Friday night and the Criminal Investigation Branch was making inquiries. The victim was taken to hospital in a serious condition with numerous injuries, he said. Police understood the assault stemmed from a dispute between two parties and did not appear to be gang related.
