A series of earthquakes, the largest 6.3 magnitude, have struck near New Zealand's Kermadec Islands in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday morning. The earthquakes struck near the Kermadec Islands, northeast of New Zealand. An earlier 5.7 magnitude quake struck at a depth of 17.2km at 11.56pm on Wednesday night, while four aftershocks above 5.0 magnitude rattled the region near the Kermadec Trench in the hour after the largest shake.
