Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is eagerly awaiting the transmittal of the articles of impeachment to the Senate, her spokesperson Atty. She said the Chief Justice is already on the advanced stage of her preparation for the looming impeachment trial. “The Chief Justice eagerly awaits the transmittal of the articles of impeachment to the Senate where she is ready to defend herself against the unfair, unjust and malicious allegations, which are the bases of the obviously biased impeachment proceedings conducted by the House Committee on Justice,” Deinla said. The Chief Justice earlier said at the rate of the hearing at the House Committee on Justice, she will not be surprised if the impeachment will be transmitted to the Senate. The House panel has already approved the articles of impeachment which will then be submitted to the plenary for further discussion and voting.
