Seremban Umno branch chief murder: suspect remanded for seven days


SEREMBAN: A 31-year-old man, believed to be involved in the murder of Kampung Nyatoh Umno branch chief, Nor Haidi Mat Yusof, here yesterday, has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation. Seremban district police chief, Assistant Commisioner Thiew Hock Poh said, the suspect’s remand order which begins today is to enable the police to complete the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. A knife and a shovel were also seized from the suspect,” he said. In the 8am incident, Nor Haidi, 40, died after he was stabbed by the suspect, following a fight which is believed to have escalated from an argument with the suspect. According to the victim’s elder brother, Nor Azmi, 42, the suspect was furious after Nor Haidi tried to take his mobile phone to check on the people the suspect had been in contact with, following his drastic behavior changes.
