Separatist leaders in Washington launch new coalition to free Anglophones in Cameroon

Separatist leaders from over a dozen liberation movements fighting for the liberation and independence of Southern Cameroon launched a powerful new coalition on Saturday to finally bring freedom to Anglophones in Cameroon. The new coalition, dubbed Southern Cameroon Liberation Council or SCLC, was launched in Washington, District of Columbia. They, however, insisted that such talks will only take place if they were meant to discuss terms of separation. Speaking during the All-Southern Cameroon Peoples Conference, the leaders questioned why the UN has not yet intervened to stop the “genocide” in Cameroon that, according to them, has killed over 1,000 people since 2016. At least, 437,000 people have also been displaced from Cameroon’s North West and South West regions, according to a document the activists submitted before the UN.
