The Chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, the main opposition party in Cameroon Ni John Fru Ndi has been kidnapped, one of the party’s Communication Secretary has confirmed. He was kidnapped in Yer, a locality in Kumbo in Bui Division of the North West region of Cameroon by gun men believed to be separatist fighters as he accompanied the corpse of Hon. According to Ngah John, an eye witness who was part of the convoy carrying the corpse to Kumbo, they convoy was stopped my separatist fighters and when they identified Chariman Ni John Fru Ndi, he was taken away along with his car. Before his kidnap, Ni John Fru Ndi during the funeral mass of Hon. Alleged separatist leaders had some few days earlier kidnapped Ni John Fru Ndi’s brother and were asking for a ransom of six million Frs CFA.
