Indian markets extended gains as the session progressed. In afternoon trade, the Sensex was up 250 points at 41,593, tracking higher global markets. Metal stocks were in the limelight with NSE metal index rising over 2%. Nalco, MOIL, Jindal Steel, Tata Steel, JSW Steel were among the other top gainers. "Indian markets would be looking ahead for the Dec quarterly results and any significant developments from the government before the Union Budget," he said.
