A 70-year-old woman was struck and killed by a dump truck in Oakville on Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened just before 3 p.m. Police said the truck was driving eastbound along Speers Rd., towards Fourth Line when the woman crossed Speers Rd about 100 metres west of the intersection. She was hit by the truck in the curb lane, police said, and pronounced dead at the scene. First responders arrived at the scene, and closed down Speers Rd. between Fourth Line and Third Line for an investigation.
