Senators name Peter MacTavish as assistant general manager

The Ottawa Senators have named Peter MacTavish as their new assistant general manager. The 44-year-old MacTavish, a labour and employment lawyer at Ottawa-based Norton Rose Fulbright LLP, has a background in hockey. “Peter will be an excellent hire for the Senators,” said Barry in a statement to this newspaper. “Peter understands both the scouting side and the business side of hockey and he does all this with character and integrity. The Senators also interviewed former New York Islanders assistant GM Claude Loiselle for the job along with former Arizona Coyotes VP of hockey operations Chris O’Hearn plus several other candidates.
