Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) confused the hell out of people during former FBI director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday. This was mostly because the senator spent a good chunk of his seven-minute questioning time asking Comey about Hillary Clinton’s emails instead of focusing on the current investigation involving President Donald Trump’s campaign aides and their contact with Russian officials during the 2016 election. Baffled, Comey told McCain, that “the Clinton email investigation was complete,” but McCain kept at it. Comey wasn’t alone in his bewilderment. People echoed a similar sentiment on Twitter.
