Share TweetBy Chito ChavezThe Quezon City government said on Tuesday it has given former Senator Santanina Tillah Rasul the prestigious Tandang Sora Award this year for her outstanding contributions in national legislation and for upholding women’s rights. Quezon City’s Tandang Sora Award is given to women who exemplify Melchora Aquino’s (also known as Tandang Sora) virtues of bravery, word of honor, kindness, protectiveness, industry, and service to fellowmen. The former senator’s daughter, Amina Rasul, accepted the award in behalf of the former senator. The awarding ceremony followed a wreath-laying at the Tandang Sora Shrine along Banlat Road in Barangay Tandang Sora, named after the woman known as the “Mother of the Philippine Revolution.”
