Senate sets OK of 8 bills as session resumesTHE Senate resumed session today, Monday, with eight bills lined up for approval on third and final reading, including an amendment to the Labor Code of the Philippines to allow flexible work arrangements. The Senate and the House of Representatives went on a three-month break for the midterm elections. Senate President Vicente Sotto 3rd said the senators would try to pass three important measures during the last three weeks of the 17th Congress. These are passage of the amended Human Security Act or Anti Terrorism Act; the amendment to the Public Services Act to improve water and power services, and Medical Scholarship Act. The proposed SB 1826 or the Security of Tenure Act ending labor contractualization under Committee Report 392 is scheduled for amendment.
