The U.S. Senate has rejected a legislative effort that would have blocked some arms sales to Israel. Pro-Israel groups, like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI), have lobbied against the resolutions. “Let’s stand together to strengthen international security and support our ally, Israel in this difficult time,” it continues. A Senate aide also told the website that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is pressing his colleagues to vote against the measures. The Senate vote comes just a week after the Biden administration abandoned its ultimatum to cut off some weapons to Israel if the country continued to block humanitarian aid from entering Gaza.
