Sunday Aborisade, AbujaThe Senate Public Account Committee has queried the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority over N220m contracts allegedly awarded and fully paid for, but not executed. The audit report stated that over N220m contracts were awarded on October 18, 2012. “The total contract sum had been paid but a visit to the site showed that the solar power was not working and the residents confirmed its non-functionality. The Auditor-General said the issues raised were communicated to the Managing Director of NDBDA through the audit inspection report in July 2016. The Managing Director of the Commission, Mr Tonye David-West, was unable to defend all the queries issued to him by the Chairman of the Senate Committee, Senator Mathew Urhoghide.
