The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum, Sherry Rehman, Rehman Malik, Anwarul Haq Kakar, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chaudhry Tanveer and others. The agenda of the session had three points, but the committee deferred that to discuss the tension along the LoC. “Many questions regarding Afghanistan are being raised, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not brief us,” said Senator Rehman, demanding a briefing from the defence ministry. In reply, the officials of the defence ministry stated that only the Ministry of Foreign Affairs could brief the committee on the Afghanistan talks.
