THE Senate blue ribbon committee has recommended the filing of plunder and other graft-related charges against two former officials of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in connection with the P50 million bribery-extortion scandal in 2016. Unknown to Aguirre, Argosino had a discussion with Sombero after the meeting. Argosino and Robles met Sombero in a restaurant at City of Dreams at 11 p.m. on November 26. The blue ribbon committee chaired by Sen. Richard Gordon also recommended the filing of direct bribery charges against Argosino, Robles and former BI intelligence officer Charles Calima. The committee also wants Sombero charged with plunder and corruption of public officials under Article 212 of the Revised Penal Code.
