Share TweetBy Vanne Elaine TerrazolaThe Senate may not be able to oblige to the request of House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to pass the remaining measures in President Duterte’s legislative agenda before the end of the 17th Congress. On Wednesday afternoon, the Senate, voting 15-0, approved the Senate Bill 1826, or the proposed Security of Tenure law seeking an end to the abusive practice of contractualization or “endo”. Meanwhile, Sen. Koko Pimentel, a known proponent of federalism, already conceded that the Senate can no longer approve the proposed Charter change and federal shift within the 17th Congress. Pimentel said he and other administration-allied senators would push for federalism when the 18th Congress opens in July.
