Sen. Gordon urges establishment of operation center for law on motorcycles 2 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Mario CasayuranSenator Richard J. Gordon said Monday the Land Transportation Office (LTO), in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP), should immediately build an operation center to prevent delays in implementing Republic Act 11235, the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act. Gordon, chairman of the Senate government corporations and public enterprises committee, said he would call on the LTO to build a 24/7 Operation Center immediately because we cannot implement the law without it. As principal author and sponsor of RA 11235, Gordon said the law calls for a Joint PNP-LTO Operations and Control Center which should be operational and accessible real-time, as well as equipped with the latest available technology to facilitate the implementation of the law. The law also requires the LTO to maintain a registry of motorcycles in a database to facilitate information retrieval for official investigation and law enforcement purposes, he pointed out.
