Somewhere in a hermetically sealed, surgically clean corner of the Democratic campaign war room, the message gnomes have been working overtime to come up with some clever verbal formulation to defend the indefensible. The plan by leading Democrats to pack the Supreme Court by adding justices until it rubber-stamps everything the executive branch authorizes and the legislature passes while under Democratic control is self-evidently a greater threat to the principles of republican government than anything Donald Trump has imagined....
