KLANG: Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah wants greater efforts made towards the creation of successful athletes. Out of the 98 athletes, 41 received RM5,000 for each gold medal won, 29 athletes received RM3,000 for each silver medal won and 28 athletes received RM2,000 for each bronze medal won. The nine coaches received RM5,000 each at the event held at Istana Alam Shah here on Monday. "All this could not have been achieved without the sporting facilities provided by the Government and the private sector,'' said Sultan Sharafuddin. Sultan Sharafuddin added that he believed sports was the ideal catalyst to inculcate unity and harmony among the country's multi-racial community.
