Seized, but not ceased: Banned charities pose challenge for Pakistan


212 organisations formally banned by PakistanThe United States has offered a $10 million reward for evidence leading to his conviction. Those charities are the focus of a motion co-sponsored by the United States and European allies calling for Pakistan to be placed on the terrorist financing watchlist maintained by theFinancial Action Task Force (FATF). The move is part of a roader US strategy to pressure Pakistan to cut its alleged links to militants. Pakistan was on the FATF “grey list” from 2012 to 2015. Saeed denounced the latter move in a fiery sermon on Friday, accusing Islamabad of caving in to US and Indian pressure.
