It was great to see such a strong turnout of farmers from throughout the south voicing their concerns about the proposed freshwater rules and regulations. I have experienced two examples which have really emphasised to me how unworkable some of these rules are. Being out there in the paddock, and on the ground, it is upsetting to see how worried our farmers are by these unworkable rules. It is time to look for creative solutions to encourage Kiwis to come and help with the harvest this summer.
