Cherry tomatoes were responsible for one of my worst and one of my best taste experiences ever.The worst was in Amsterdam . At a supermarket I picked up a box of vividly red berry-like tomatoes. They seemed to be grown to provide a flash of red colour to salads, but nothing else. This horror has spread to India , but with full size tomatoes. But personally I like them best by themselves, squishing each one gloriously in my mouth for a reminder of true tomato taste.
