Billed as the ‘Global Currency, Coins, Stamps and Antiques Expo 2017’, the fair this year features 38 stalls of collectors from Kerala, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and other places within Tamil Nadu. “Most of the things here, whether the antiques, stamps or currency, were once in use and held a meaning for the user. With the recent move towards a cashless society, we are not sure whether children will even recognise coins and currency notes any more. “The challenge in the antiques business is to ensure authenticity.
