SHERPUR, April 8, 2026 (BSS) - Free seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed among 700 small and marginal farmers in Jhenaigati upazila of the district under a government incentive program aimed at boosting Aush paddy production for the 2025-26 fiscal year. The distribution program was officially inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon by Jhenaigati Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. According to the Jhenaigati Upazila Agriculture Office, a total of 700 farmers are benefiting from the initiative this year. Each farmer is receiving 5 kilograms of Ufshi Aush paddy seeds, along with 10 kilograms each of DAP and MOP fertilizers.
