A sedition case has been filed against suspended assistant commissioner Tapashee Tabassum Urmi. An individual by the name of Shawkat Hossain filed the case at Khulna Metropolitan Magistrates Court 2 on Wednesday. Tk 10 billion was sought in compensation for the alleged defamation, reports bdnews24.com. The inquiry report has to be submitted by Dec 15.”In the case dossier, the plaintiff said, “Tapashee Tabassum posting on Facebook being a government employee means she is trying to become the chief advisor by overthrowing the government. Her statement amounts to sedition.”"She has committed sedition by making that comment and has tarnished the reputation of the head of the government by posting it on Facebook with hateful comments about him."
