Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharafuzzaman Ansari passed the order on Thursday after accepting the charge sheet. The court has also asked officer-in-charge of Tejgaon police station to submit a report regarding their arrest by November 1. Earlier on September 6, police submitted a charge sheet against BNP leader Tarique Rahman and former ETV chairman Abdus Salam, its chief reporter Mahathir Faruqui Khan and special correspondent Kanak Sarwar to a Dhaka court in a sedition case filed early this year. On January 8, Sub-inspector Borhan Uddin of Tejgaon police filed the case on charge of threatening the country’s sovereignty by saying and broadcasting instigating words in a television channel. Tarique Rahman was made the prime accused in the case.
