MANILA, Philippines — A security guard of a condominium was arrested on Thursday for allegedly extorting money from a Chinese national in Makati City. According to the complaint, Suarez threatened to file a case for violation of Cyber Access Device Act against victim Jinhua Xie, 29, if the latter fails to pay P300,000. Suarez also threatened to report to the Bureau of Immigration about Jinhua’s alleged illegal stay in the Philippines. Ines added that the security officer also extorted money worth P2,000 to P3,000 from the Chinese national for smoking near the condominium. “Lagi niya kinokotongan [pag] naninigarilyo yung Chinese… para di kasuhan ang Chinese,” he said.
