Security contracts shrouded in secrecy but now the Auditor General can scrutinise

There is a great deal of secrecy around security contracts; they're shrouded from the public gaze and from scrutiny. The judge agreed that according to the way our Constitution is framed, there is no expenditure that is outside the purview of the Auditor General. That matter is under appeal, primarily concerning the issues of military and security procurement. Keeping the security contracts away from the audit function obstructs our efforts to end impunity. We only have one Auditor General who audits all — not some — of the public statements of accounts.
