The local authorities have imposed section 144 in Sarail and Kasba upazilas of the district to avert any untoward situation as few fractions announced to hold meetings in same places. The restriction will remain in force from 6am to midnight on Thursday. In Sarail, upazila administration imposed section 144 as two groups of Juba League, the front organisation of ruling Awami League, declared to bring out a procession and hold a rally at the same time at Shahjadapur High School ground. “The ban on any meeting and procession will remain imposed there from 8am to Thursday midnight,” Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Umme Israt confirmed it to the Dhaka Tribune. Meanwhile, Kasba UNO Hasina Islam also imposed the same section in her upazila as two committees of Kuti Atal Bihari High School announced to hold a meeting at the venue at same time.
